Scott MacDonald is a master luthier and builder of guitars. In 2017, Scott moved his family and his established (20+ years) business off Long Island in search of a new life in Vermont.

Scott had his hands full: buying and renovating a house, setting up a new workshop, moving the contents of a house and all the machinery and fixtures from his former workshop, setting up bank accounts and mortgages and insurance. 

In the midst of all this, he knew he had to update his website, which was full of content but over ten years old. He entrusted us with the project. This was one of those times when a client says, “Just take care of this.”

For Scott, this wasn’t just a move, it was a realignment of his life. He wanted his new website to reflect that new life. This project wasn’t just a redesign or a data migration, it was a reinvention.

We took care of everything for Scott. We condensed, migrated and interlinked his different web assets (he had website, a blog, a YouTube channel, etc.) to improve his SEO position. We set up a content marketing system for his so he could get more consistent with writing and pushing out articles. We set up a new business YouTube account, edited his many videos and set up playlists and tagging. And we built him a modern, responsive website.

Scott is a wonderful photographer, so we designed the site around that. We customized the backend such that he can easily change images all over the site. He has tremendous control over how his site looks and reflects his life.

A year on, Scott and his family are loving Vermont, and Scott’s business is top rated and ranking well on Google for the Northeast. The plan for the next year is to increase his reach nationally and internationally
